Letter to the Editor: Thanks to all who make Empty Bowls a success

By DEBORAH PUCILLO

Special to the Daily News

Thanks to The [Episcopal] Church of Bethesda-by-the-Sea leadership and volunteers, local sponsors and patrons of the recent Empty Bowls Palm Beach on Feb. 5th.

With delicious soups provided by 32 Palm Beach restaurants and clubs, hearty bread from Old School Bakery, and water and paper goods from Palm Beach Publix, the event also featured bowls made by Palm Beach Public School and Palm Beach Day Academy. The Breakers provided additional culinary staffing and FreeRide Palm Beach donated its services. Mildred Hoit even provided a portion of sales from their shop on a special Empty Bowls shopping day.

Thanks to Mayor [Gail] Coniglio, Daily News Food Writer Roberta Sabban, Town Council members and others who served soup. Truly a local community event, Empty Bowls helps us focus on serving the hungry in our community and the role and mission of the Palm Beach County Food Bank. On behalf of those we serve, please accept our sincere appreciation to all who helped make Palm Beach Empty Bowls 2016 a success.
